About Hi-Jinx Shiba Inu Kennel In Wisconsin
Hi-Jinx Shiba Inu was established in Wisconsin in 1991 after we acquired our first Shiba Inu. We had spent the previous eighteen years raising and exhibiting the beautiful Keeshonds, a breed of dog from the Netherlands. This breeding program resulted in over fifty AKC titleholders.
Our new little Shiba Inu, who became, SCA Ch. Foxtrot Cinnamon Toast "Tang” was a much loved and delightful companion and led us to embark upon a new challenge, to retain the unique bloodline of type and temperament characteristic of the Shiba Inu as developed in its home country of Japan. We now specialize in the ultimate black and tan Shiba Inu but also have beautiful reds and sesames. By incorporating some of the best bloodlines from my Japanese import and American Shibas we have established a healthy and beautiful family of dogs that have become well known for their sound temperament. We have since retired the Keeshonds, and am dedicated to only one breed, the Shiba Inu.
Although our dogs are not “kennel” dogs, they each have a clean and roomy kennel for their own safety and well-being when not indoors with us or running in the Shiba habitat, an acre of fenced woodland in Wisconsin.
  1. Bullet  Growing Orchids is a pastime I enjoy  and although far different from raising and showing our awesome Shibas it is rewarding in itself.  Click  here to see some of our Orchids in bloom.

Hi-Jinx shiba inu Kennel is the proud Recipient of the AKC’s gold medallion  for recognition of our contribution to the sport of purebred dogs as the breeder-owner-handler of ten Shiba Inu championships finished from the Bred-by-Exhibitor class.

Our goal is to preserve and develop the bloodline of this fabulous breed and we have AKC dog show champions in conformation  as a result.  We are also the breeder of many Shibas that have earned “performance” competition titles trained by their owners.  The hard work and dedication by all has resulted in over 100 Shibas that are bred, owned or co-owned by us, included many JAPANESE IMPORTS that have earned honors.

I compete at the Colonial Shiba Classic, a yearly show judged by a respected Japanese Nippo judge.  I am extremely proud of the “four” BEST IN SHOW  wins  and the several BEST OF BREED PUPPY and BEST OF OPPOSITE SEX PUPPY Awards we have won at this event.

Working for the best interest of the Shiba Inu breed I have served the National Shiba Club of America as vice-president, board member, on committees and breed columnist.
